Community Involvement

Part of the Performance Promise is "People"-- we are committed to serving the members of this community that we are proud to be a part of. As a local dealership, we feel privileged to have the opportunity to be sponsors of the numerous community groups and organizations.

All Local High School Athletic Programs & the Big Cat Kick-Off Clash.

This year, Performance AutoMall sponsored  the "Big Cat Kick-Off Clash" to kick off the high school football season. The event featured the Carrboro Jaguars, the Chapel Hill Tigers
and the East Chapel Hill Wildcats facing off against their opponents in three separate games at UNC's Kenan Stadium. Admission to the game was free. Performance AutoMall continually sponsors all local high school athletic programs throughout the year.

Walk/Race for Education
.

Performance AutoMall is a proud sponsor of the Public School Foundation's Walk/Race for Education, a major fundraiser for local public schools. This year's walk, celebrating its 15th year, will take place on October 1st with the theme of "FUNKY 15."

Students, parents, friends and community members gather at McCorkle Place, walking down Franklin Street to the Lincoln Center. At the Lincoln Center, there is a Post-Walk Carnival. Last year, more than 4,000 people participated in the Walk. This year's Walk for Education will take place on October 1st and the Race for Education will take place in Spring 2012. Last year, over 200 people participated in the 7th annual Race for Education, which promotes a healthy lifestyle and exercise in a community-based atmosphere.

The Public School Foundation's Race is the only project that gives all local schools in the district the opportunity to generate funds for their own programs, clubs, sports and other extra-curricular activities. Proceeds from both the Walk and Race are used to offset recent cuts in critical areas, such as basic school supplies and materials, technology, the arts and more.

United Way.

Each year, Performance AutoMall pulls together donations from its employees and managers to make a collective contribution to the United Way. This idea came along in 2008 and, in its first year, Performance AutoMall was able to donate $8,000 as a team In 2010, Performance AutoMall employees made personal donations that amounted to over $41,000 total for the United Way! We hope to exceed this goal this coming year in donating over $50,000!
