Performance AutoMall "Turns it Pink" this month to help raise breast cancer awareness and support for October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

CHAPEL HILL, NC, October 9, 2012-- Performance AutoMall will support October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by offering promotions and information throughout the month to help raise awareness about and support for the disease.

In a partnership with Bella Trio Day Spa of Durham, the "Turn it Pink" initiative hopes to encourage the local community to participate in activities that will increase awareness about ways breast cancer can be prevented and offer support  for breast cancer research and access to care for those with the disease.

For every vehicle sold this month, Performance AutoMall will donate ten dollars towards breast cancer research and support. Performance AutoMall will also donate five dollars for every free brake inspection performed.  All proceeds will benefit the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center with state-of-the-art cancer research and patient care facilities.

Performance AutoMall will also be holding a Facebook contest on all five of its Facebook brand pages?Performance Acura, Performance BMW, Performance Chevrolet, Performance Porsche, and Performance Subaru?that encourages Facebook fans of all ages to show their National Breast Cancer Awareness Month support by "turning it pink" in a photo with their car.  Contestants can "turn it pink" by wearing pink or by decorating their car in pink.

The winner of each Facebook brand page will be decided based on the number of likes the submitted photos has up to October 29. Each winner will receive a $50 gas card and will be entered in the grand-prize drawing for a Relaxation Day Gift Certificate, a $170 value, donated by Bella Trio Day Spa. The Relaxation Day includes a one-hour massage, manicure, and pedicure. More information on Performance AutoMall's contest can be found on any one of the Performance Facebook pages.

Performance AutoMall will also use its Facebook pages to disseminate information about breast cancer, ways to support breast cancer research and treatment, and methods of prevention and early detection.

Last year alone, the American Cancer Society estimated that over 230,000 women were diagnosed with breast cancer and affects the lives of people from every background and in every community across the nation.
