Performance In The Community

Part of the Performance Promise is "People" -- we are committed to serving the members of this community that we are proud to be a part of. As a local dealership, we feel privileged to have the opportunity to be sponsors of the numerous community groups and organizations.

Performance Christmas Traditions: Foster a Child at Christmas

For For about 20 years, a Performance Auto Mall Christmas tradition has been to fulfill Christmas wish lists through the Orange County Department of Social Services [OCDSS], coordinated by Sharon and Pat, owners of Balloons and Tunes in Carrboro.  Sharon and Pat work closely with the OCDSS to ensure kids in foster homes in the community receive Christmas gifts.  Each department at Performance Auto Mall, Acura Sales & Service, BMW Sales & Service, Porsche Sales & Service, Subaru Sales & Service, and Client Care & Facilities, as well as individual managers sponsored a child to ensure a magical Christmas morning for at least 13 children.  This year the ages ranged from one year old to 19 years old and from building blocks and bicycles to teen Bibles to Amazon gift cards. All of the employees pitched in and really went above and beyond, purchasing items in addition to wish list requests.  W e are very proud of our team and their giving spirit.

If you would like to learn more about the Foster Care Christmas Sponsorship here are a few details:

The Program covers:

·        Foster children and at risk children coming into foster care.

·        Senior Citizens and disabled members under the care of Orange Co. DSS.

·        There are about 150-200 children who are in need of sponsorship this year.

·        You may also select preference of age and gender of childe you wish to sponsor.

The Orange County DSS also takes financial contributions to help support a child at Christmas.

This is a non-profit organization and so your contribution is tax deductible.

Thank you to Sharon and Pat of Balloons and Tunes for coordinating this event with the Orange County Department of Social Services.

This month's community spotlight is Chapel Hill's own Eyes Ears Nose & Paws. EENP is a nonprofit organization that trains and later places assistance dogs. They have recognized that dogs have a huge untapped potential that includes an ability to read and understand human behavior, incredible noses for detecting scent, enormous capacity to love unconditionally, and a huge desire to learn and work with us. Some of the programs include: Service Dog Program and Medical Alert Dog Program.

At Performance, we want the best for the community that we serve. EENP is always looking for donations and any donation would be greatly appreciated! Donations can be placed online at their website or can be mailed to PO Box 3443, Chapel Hill, NC 27515.

The Performance Subaru team loves the thriving community we live in. While we enjoy providing outstanding customer service on all things Subaru, we also excel in helping out organizations and charities in fun and innovative ways.

Paws4ever is always looking for donations! A list of what they are happy to accept can be found here.

Performance Subaru partners with Chapel Hill-Carrboro Meals on Wheels [CHCMOW]

CHCMOW also benefited from the annual Subaru Share the Love event, receiving $2,500 in donations. Local and national publicity has not only helped raise awareness of the need to provide nutritious meals to Orange County seniors, but has also helped raise thousands of dollars used to purchase food and provide delivery transportation.
